Childhood is a precious time—rich with curiosity, imagination, and endless possibility.

At Playdays, we believe that early childhood is a precious time—rich with curiosity, imagination, and endless possibility. With over 20 years of experience, we’ve created a warm, child-led learning environment where children feel safe, valued, and free to explore the world around them.

Our curriculum is emergent and inquiry-based, meaning it evolves in response to each child’s interests, ideas, questions, and play. Rather than following a rigid lesson plan, we listen carefully and observe the children, shaping learning experiences that reflect what naturally captures their attention and wonder.

This approach is grounded in Aistear, Ireland’s Early Childhood Curriculum Framework, and supported by the principles of Síolta, the National Quality Framework. Through these, we focus on four key learning themes: Well-being; Identity and Belonging; Communicating; Exploring and Thinking

  • Freedom, Movement, and Choice

Children in our setting are offered freedom of movement and choice throughout their day. Whether they prefer small-world play, storytelling, role-play, messy play, or simply observing and thinking, we support their pace and style of learning.

  • Outdoor Learning

We believe that outdoor play is essential. Our spacious outdoor area offers endless opportunities for running, digging, exploring, inventing, and just being children. In all weather, our garden is alive with possibility—helping children develop physical confidence, resilience, and a deep connection to nature.

  • Community & Connection

We celebrate the unique identities of each child and family in our care. We invite parents, grandparents, and carers to share their hobbies, cultures, and interests with us, enriching the children’s experiences and helping them feel truly seen and valued.
